NEW BLENZ Coffee store opens in Kamloops.

(Kamloops, BC) ‒ Blenz Coffee is pleased to announce the opening of a new store in downtown Kamloops, BC.

This franchise location will be operated by Beau Labrecque. “We are very pleased that Beau has joined the Blenz family as the franchise partner and operator of the new Blenz Coffee store in Kamloops,” commented David McDougall, the master franchisor of the Okanagan region. “We think his enthusiasm for business and passion for coffee will play a major part in his success in Kamloops.”

Master franchisors David McDougall has been working on expanding Kamloops for the past year. “It has been a priority for us to locate more Blenz Coffee stores in Kamloops. It is a thriving community, and we’re sure that Blenz Coffee will be well-received by all the people of the city.”

Last week BLENZ Coffee celebrated two neighbourhood parties. The first was on the 6th at South Granville and the other was the following day at our West Hastings location. The Japanese tea ceremony centers on the preparation, serving and drinking of matcha. Matcha is made by grinding the entire leaf into a fine powder, which is then whisked directly into hot water so that when drinking, you consume the whole tea leaf.

At Blenz Coffee, we wouldn’t settle for anything less than 100% pure matcha. Our matcha contains no fillers or lower grade teas, only genuine super-premium matcha. Matcha is generally much more expensive than other forms of tea. The highest grades have a more intense sweetness and deeper flavour.

Japan Earthquake / Asia Pacific Tsunami Appeal

Blenz is raising money for the Japanese Red Cross Appeal.

On Friday March 11, 2011, an 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit Japan. This has triggered 4 meter waves in Japan and tsunami warnings across the Pacific coastline. Hundreds of people are reported dead, and many more are injured or missing. The earthquake has caused fires and severe damage to buildings, leaving 4.4 million households without electricity. This tragic earthquake which struck Japan has caused a huge amount of chaos and devastation.
The Red Cross has deployed medical tents and 82 medical teams to the affected area. Volunteers are on the ground providing first aid and search and rescue operations. The Red Cross has started Restoring Family Links activities and emergency relief planning is underway.

Donations towards the appeal can be made at the counter within all BLENZ stores.

So the Red Band campaign has come to an end and what a wonderful journey we all had. Love was in the air during the month of February and singles got a chance to express themselves through the use of wearing the red band on their Blenz Coffee. The lucky winner of the red band competition was Farhan Mohamed who collected the grand prize at the Blenz HQ this week.
