Blenz updates and renovates more stores

Newly Renovated Blenz Stores

Have you noticed some changes lately at Blenz Coffee? We started to refresh our store image in 2008 with the renovation of the Granville and Nelson location in Vancouver. Since then, every renovated store has been more reflective of our refocused brand image – a brand emphasizing natural, raw, and authentic design elements that are also well represented in the core product line.

The latest look can be seen at the Yaletown store on Helmcken and Hamilton, where the original brick wall and metal pillars were yet again integrated into the store design. The store reopened to the public on June 10, 2010 to rave reviews.

The most recent renovations were at the Blenz Coffee on West Broadway and Heather, that opened on June 24, and Denman and Barclay on July 30. Although both are smaller stores, the new wall and décor colours really helped make the stores more spacious and welcoming.

“We believe we were able to illustrate the refocused brand vision through the addition of a few new design elements,” commented Larry Kinash, VP of Development at Blenz Coffee. “Re-claimed natural wood cabinets, furniture, and countertops, along with raw concrete flooring all represent the core brand messages of being authentic, natural, and handmade. The idea is to design the store so it becomes the canvas to the actual products, ingredients, and the people.”

BC’s largest theatre festival

frindge

The Vancouver International Fringe Festival, produced annually by the First Vancouver Theatrespace Society, is BC’s largest theatre festival and North America’s most international Fringe Fest. This year’s Fringe Festival will feature over 600 performances by more than 80 groups over 11 days, and is expected to attract nearly 30,000 attendees.

Every year the Fringe delivers an eclectic mix of un-juried, uncensored theatrical offerings. Presenting live theatre in an informal, accessible and inexpensive environment, the Fringe strives to break down traditional boundaries between audiences and artists, encouraging open dialogue between theatre-goers and theatre-creators.

In addition to the main course of theatre shows, there are a variety of side dish events to make your Fringe experience well rounded and satisfying. Attend the free workshops on a variety of topics hosted by veteran Fringe-goers. Listen to live music every night of the festival at the St. Ambroise Fringe Bar at Agro Café. And catch the best of the fest at the Public Market Pick of the Fringe from September 23 – 26.

Audiences are invited to experience the work of emerging artists and seasoned veterans. Local, national and international artists benefit from working together and learning from each other in a vibrant and exciting festival atmosphere.

So come on out! It’s theatre for everyone!
